Touch Ranger would be the easiest way to farm stuff... Though Nahpui Quarter farming... I'd recommend a 55 platform. But since you only have a ranger:

the general touch ranger farmer builds rely pretty heavily on Offering of Blood however (not to get your hopes up) which is a prophesies only Elite. The pet build may be doable without call of protection/symbiotic bond, but again it will be weaker. Elite being in Nahpui explorable (enraged lunge).

Or a general wilderness build:
many threads but essentially poison and cripple with lots of space to run circles around your prey.
Nahpui has been solo farmed with trappers, so that may work for you. using quickening zephyr and energizing wind, traps out the wazoo, and a self defense skill or two. Spike trap would be my elite of choice here, but its not accessible until after tahnakai temple mission.
For the most part, farming builds are utilizing both chapters in factions and may not be as effective solo. Trapper, Rt/mes vengeful or Rt/x ritual lord may be about the only exceptions.

Yeah I watched a few of those vids and was really amazed. Never thought you can solo with just a pet.

Ive tried throwing together a trapper but im not sure if it'll work without dust trap.

you can still use 4 traps include barbed flame spike and vipers nest, whirling, throw dirt is a decent sub for dust trap and the 3 spirits. get the qz down first then the ew, trap like mad and aggro after oh, 3 rounds of traps. Another option is subbing in oath shot for spike, see which works best for you, but my guess is 4 traps is better than 3, just a little slower.

Now how should I go about trapping solo?

Lay one of each and try and lure them to it? Should I bring running skills or something?

Trapping is probably your best way..since factions only player are pretty much lacking many essential farm skills such as live vicariously and vigorous spirit..

no , lay at least 3-4 sets of trap [barb dust flame spike]

then pull...even Onis die under that =]

the trick to pulling is holding aggro for about 3-5 seconds until everything is bunched up..so when they fall onto your traps, you can 1 shot kill them..

here's an example with my original trap build

He's only said it seven times, but Flame Trap, Barbed Trap, Spike Trap, Viper's Nest, Snare. Don't use Snare.
